To My Fellow Neighbors:
My name is Michael Silva, and I am seeking your support to be our first elected trustee to serve our families on Vacaville’s City Council, District 3.
For the past two years, I have humbly served on our School Board. The core of many issues that some of our most underrepresented children and families face extend beyond the scope of what our teachers and support staff can provide. Solely placing the blame on hardworking parents ignores the statement that “It takes a village to raise a child.” I say, let’s support that village!
Growing up in Vacaville’s Markham Heights neighborhood, I’ve experienced and witnessed some of the ups and downs families have gone through these past decades. Despite our evolving economy and politics, we must never lose sight of our ability to support our sense of community, celebrate our diversity, and be innovative while engaging our neighbors.
As a professor, Vacaville School Board Trustee, and long-time public servant, everything I have committed my career and efforts towards is centered around helping to create more opportunities for others through health and education for all ages that promote economic prosperity.
As a science educator, I seek innovative methods to increase access towards the workforce so our youth and adults can achieve their potential.
As a School Board Trustee I have sought opportunities to strengthen relationships not just in Vacaville, but throughout Solano County as the President of the Solano County School Board Association (SCSBA). I will continue the same leadership approaches as our next City Council representative with your vote!
Our campaign’s vision supports:
Opportunities for good career jobs by supporting local businesses and economic development efforts by investing in infastructure and redevelopment.
Affordable housing ownership (not just rentals) by re-evaluating our General Plan and Zoning while respecting our neighborhoods and families pursuit of the American Dream.
Strengthening the partnership between our city and school system because better schools make a stronger City and a stronger City should help supports better schools
Reinvesting in our youth and adult/senior programs to maintain and improve our quality-of-life
Supporting comprehensive and collaborative public safety efforts
As your next City Council member I will listen to your concerns and work towards building relationships so Vacaville can move forward.
Let’s do this, together, united for a better future!
